Using Crates For More Than Storage

If you have access to a few wooden crates or you have some in your home that you’re no longer using, don’t throw them away. You can make a bookcase for all of the books that you have nowhere to put. Children can put board games, coloring books, craft supplies, and other items on the bookcases that you make if they don’t have enough books for them.

Another way to use wooden crates is to make furniture for your home. You can stack a few together to make an end table or paint a crate that can be used as an ottoman. You can sew fabric on the top of the crate so that it’s comfortable for resting your feet. Crates can be used as cubbies in a classroom for sorting book bags and other items that the students use. The ideas for using wooden crates are almost endless as long as you use your imagination and look at what you might need in your home.
