All of us at one point in our lives are going to be faced with moving from one home to another. During this time of transition it is sometimes hard to know what to do with all of our “stuff”. Sometimes people will fill their garage in their new home with all the stuff they don’t know where to put, but this is a good way of getting your items ruined by the weather. Many public storage units are climate controlled and therefore are a good choice for things you want to keep in good shape. You can rent units that are not climate controlled as well if that is a feature you do not think you will need.
Some storage companies have insurance you can purchase to further protect your belongings. If the items you will be placing in the unit are of great value, it is a good idea to go ahead and pay a bit extra for the insurance to make sure your beloved items can be replaced if they are ever stolen. It is not likely that your items will be stolen while in public storage but it is better to be safe than sorry.
